In the recent Andhra Pradesh State Symposium on AIDS, organized by Indian Dental Association, Coastal Branch, held at Sibar Dental College, Guntur, on 23 July 2006, Ms Vidya Lakshmi of III BDS won the second prize for her paper presentation titled "MASK OF AIDS: A twist in the tale" . Her paper was widely appreciated because she had spoken on a different apsect of AIDS. She explained why some people are unlikely to be infected with HIV in spite being exposed to the infection. She also elaborated why AIDS takes a longer time in some indivuiduals to manifest itself clinically. She was guided by the Dept. of Oral Pathology.
