Department of Prosthodontics & Implantology

The Dept of Prosthodontics and implantology started under graduate programme in the year- 2002-03. The department maintains an impressionable amalgamation of scientific and research activities. The students here are educated and trained to practice efficient dentistry by developing a good rapport with patients and giving good diagnosis and treatment using state of art materials and techniques. The department has started post graduate degree programme in May 2008 with an intake of three students. Periodically the department is organizing continuing dental education programmes for both undergraduates and postgraduates.

The department is well equipped with latest equipment like ADORO (lummat) curing chamber with ivoclair composites for indirect composite restorations. Latest milling machine (Ammun Girbach, Germany) which makes work simpler easy and precise. We also possess ceramic furnaces for metal ceramic restoration (vita) and pressable ceramics (DENTSPLY ceramco3,cergo ) for all ceramic restorations. Added to this we have Bego preheating and burn out furnace. We also have penta mix automixing unit for mixing impressions . Prosthodontics is branch in which lot of research avenues in restoring lost teeth with implants and also to give prosthesis for maxillofacial deformity patients. The staff of the department is keen to utilize this opportunity for research programmes. The staff of the department have participated in various scientific forms and delivered guest lectures, orations, and presented scientific papers seminars nationally.
